Lastovo – island of bright stars!
Here, a night sky is speckled with stars, leaving the obsever breathless.
It is claimed that Lastovo is the place with the starriest sky in Europe.

Lastovo is declared a Nature park, because of its peace and tranquility in untouched nature, crystal clear sea, impressive undersea world and traditional Mediterranean atmosphere.
Archipelago consist of more than 40 small islands, and Lastovo is the biggest. 9,8km long and 5,8km wide, with highest peak on the hill Hum (471m).
Population of under 900 people.
On this island you can relax at one of the small bays, ejoying in swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling or try scuba diving and explore sea cratures and plants below and visit shipwrecks. There are two scuba diving centers in Pasadur and in Zaklopatica.
Or be more active and go cycling, walking or hiking, by a number of well marked paths across the island through the forests, fields and vineyards. Along the way you will pass some of the 40 medieval churces.
At the peak of Hum hill you can enjoy the view of Skrivena Luka, Lastovnjaci islets, even the islands of Koručula, Pelješac, Mljet, Vis, Palagruža, and on a clear day – the outline of Italy.
Good news is that island has no poisonous species (snakes or spiders) so you can safely enjoy the nature.

Restaurants on Lastovo serve mainly local, fresh food. Besides the tourism, main economic activities are agiculture, wine making, olive growing and fishing, all of those products for you to taste while there. And the underwater of Lastovo is rich with all kinds of fish, and it is the biggest ground for breeding lobsters. Restaurants provide their own berths for overnight stay for their guests.
Island has only two supermarkets: in Lastovo and Ubli.

Villages on Lastovo
The most popular and the safest bays for mooring are Skrivena Luka in the south, Velo and Malo Lago in the western part of the island and Zaklopatica in the north. Settlements on Velo and Malo Lago are Ubli and Pasadur
Ubli
Is the only ferry port on the island, with a ferries arriving from Vela Luka and Split, therefore is well connected by busses with other parts of the island. Here is also the only gas station on the island, and you can find supemartket, restaurant, bar, post office... In Ubli there are remains of Christian basilica built in 5th century, classified as a monument of highest category.
Pasadur
is 3 km distance from Ubli, connected with promenade, located where the two attracitve bays meet (Velo and Malo Lago). At the narrow cahnnel connecting two bays there is a stone bridge, connecting Pasadur with islet Prežba. In Pasadur you can find safe mooring and anchoring in front of the hotel Solitudo –the only hotel on the island. A restaurant, a bar and a diving centre.

Zaklopatica
is tourist settlement situated in Zaklopatica bay, overlooking the island of Korčula. Here you can find anchorage and enjoy sun, sea, walks and restaurants offering the best of Dalmatian cuisine.

Lastovo village
is only 2 km from Zaklopatica, 30 min walk uphill and you will find yourself in this historic settlement with ancient stone houses spread in the form of natural amphiteatre, decorated with traditional chimneys of unique shapes called „fumari“, and high broad terraces called „sulari“, which have become a trademark of Lastovo.
This is the largest settlement on the island, with the only school of the island, a medial centre, fish market, some bars, restaurants, supermarket, tourist info, a post office... And many churches dotted around, with the main church of Saints Cosmas and Damian built in the 15th century.
Lučica bay
is 1 km distance from Lastovo village by asphalt road or a 400m path through the woods. It is porotected historic site with 30 old stone houses situated directly at the sea. Perfect place to enjoy the peace and crystal clear sea, but the bay is big enough just for small boats.
On the southern side of the island:
Skrivena luka (meaning hidden port)
is the loveliest bay of the island, and a great place to anchor, protected from all winds. Restaurants offer berths for their guests. At the entrance to the bay at steep cliff lies the lighthouse of Struga, built in 1839. Today offering accommodation in 4 apartments and a restaurant where even Bill Gates once had a meal with his wife.
