The island of Šćedro – oasis of untouched nature and tranquility.
Declared as significant landscape in 1972.

If you are heading toward Hvar from our base, we reccommed you to visit small island of Šćedro along the south shore of the island Hvar. Ploče Šćedro NM, Lovišće bay (Pelješac) – Šćedro 15 NM.

It provides an intimate experience with its quite coves, aromas of nature and glimmering sun on crystal clear water
Since the Ancient times Šćedro has been known as good place for anchorage and safe harbor.

We reccommend you two coves on the nort side of Šćedro: Moster – a smaller bay, opened towards the north, so in case of strong northen wind, better shelter is neighbouring larger cove - Veli Porat.
Moster bay is particulary beautiful because of the old destroyed Dominican monastery from 16th century.
There are few houses in vicinity, and the first one in the bay is restaurant of Stjepko Kordić.
Veli Porat offers anchorage in its 4 inlets. And buoys of two restaurants „Ratos“ and „Porat“.
Your children will love the sandy bottom in Srida inlet!

All restaurants on Šćedro offer fresh fish primary, meat – lamb specialy to mention, with domestic olive oil, salat, local wines. Simple prepared and delicious!

If you maybe feel like walking, little up the hill you will disover the abandoned stone village of Nastane.

Althrough Šćedro is not crowded with many people in the season, you won't be the only one – during the day many boats take anchorage here to explore its beautiful bays.

There are 30 residents on island during summer time, and just few people living here the whole year round.
Island Šćedro even today has no water and electricity. Cisterns, aggregates and solar energy are used instead.

Advice: Like in all uninhabited areas, if you are using Land-Line we reccommend to put a larger plastic bottle on the line, because of mice, just in case.
